How to Install Tonkeeper
What is Tonkeeper and why do you need it
Tonkeeper is an electronic wallet for the TON blockchain. Think of it as a banking app, but for cryptocurrency. In it, you will store TON and USDT, send gifts and receive them.
| What Tonkeeper can do | Why you need it |
| Store TON and USDT | Your funds are always at hand |
| Send and receive transfers | Participate in the DP Smart Community |
| Exchange TON ↔ USDT | Manage your balance without third-party services |
| Connect to smart contracts | Interact with the DP Smart bot |
Tonkeeper is not a company that stores your money. It is a tool that gives you access to your funds on the blockchain. No one but you has access to the wallet. Therefore, only you are responsible for the safety of your secret phrase (more on this below).
Where to download Tonkeeper
Tonkeeper is available on three platforms. Choose yours and follow the instructions.
| Platform | Where to download | For whom |
| Android | Google Play → search "Tonkeeper" | Samsung, Xiaomi, Huawei and other phones |
| iPhone / iPad | App Store → search "Tonkeeper" | All Apple devices |
| Computer | Browser extension for Chrome / Edge / Firefox → tonkeeper.com | If you prefer to work from a computer |
Install Tonkeeper only through Google Play, App Store, or from the official website tonkeeper.com. Do not download the app from links from unknown sources — it may be a fake, and you will lose your funds.
Installation on phone (Android and iPhone)
The process is the same for both phones — the only difference is the app store.
| 1 | Open Google Play (Android) or App Store (iPhone) on your phone |
| 2 | In the search bar (at the top of the screen), enter "Tonkeeper" and press the search button |
| 3 | Find the app "Tonkeeper — TON Wallet" with a blue icon. Make sure the developer is Ton Apps Group |
| 4 | Tap "Install" (Android) or "Get" (iPhone). Wait for the download to complete |
| 5 | Tap "Open" — the app will launch |
The app is installed. Now let's move on to creating a wallet — this is the most important step.
Installing the browser extension (computer)
If you prefer to work from a computer, Tonkeeper can be installed as a browser extension. This is convenient for those who are more comfortable with a large screen.
| 1 | Open the browser Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge, or Firefox on your computer |
| 2 | Go to the official website: tonkeeper.com |
| 3 | Click the "Install Extension" button. You will be redirected to your browser's extension store |
| 4 | Click "Add to Chrome" (or a similar button in your browser) and confirm the installation |
| 5 | After installation, you will see the Tonkeeper icon in the upper right next to the address bar — click on it to open the wallet |
If the Tonkeeper icon is not visible, click on the "puzzle" icon (🧩) to the right of the address bar — a list of all extensions will open. Find Tonkeeper and click the pin icon — the icon will be pinned to the toolbar.
Creating a new wallet
Now the most important moment — creating a wallet. Regardless of the platform (phone or computer), the process is the same.
Prepare a sheet of paper and a pen. In a minute, you will be shown 24 secret words — you will need to write them down by hand. This is the only way to restore access to your wallet if your phone is lost or broken.
| 1 | When you first launch Tonkeeper, it will offer two options. Click "Create New Wallet" |
| 2 | 24 words will appear on the screen — this is your secret recovery phrase (seed phrase). Write down each word in order on paper. Do not take a photo or copy to your phone's notes |
| 3 | Double-check the written words — make sure each word is written exactly and in the correct order |
| 4 | Confirm that you have saved the phrase — Tonkeeper may ask you to enter a few words for verification |
| 5 | Create a password (or PIN code) to access the app. This is protection against accidental access — for example, if someone takes your phone |
These 24 words are the only key to your funds. Here's what you need to know:
| ❌ Never do this • Do not photograph the phrase • Do not save in phone notes • Do not send to yourself in messenger • Do not store in the cloud (Google Drive, iCloud) • Do not show or send to anyone |
✅ The right approach • Write on paper by hand • Make 2 copies • Store in different secure places • Do not show to anyone • Remember: whoever knows the phrase owns the wallet |
If your phone is stolen, hacked, or goes in for repair — anyone can access notes, photos, and messengers. And if someone has your 24 words — they can transfer all your funds to themselves in seconds. Paper in a secure place is the simplest and safest way.
You will see the main Tonkeeper screen with your balance (it will be zero for now). Just a couple more important settings left.
Wallet setup
The wallet is created — now let's set it up for convenient work. This will take a couple of minutes.
Add USDT to the main screen
By default, only TON is displayed on the main Tonkeeper screen. But to participate in the DP Smart Community, you also need USDT. Let's add it.
| 1 | On the main Tonkeeper screen, click the "Manage tokens" button — it is located at the bottom of your coin list (⚙️ icon or sliders). On the computer extension, click "Manage" |
| 2 | In the search bar, enter "USDT" |
| 3 | Find the token "Tether USD" (USDT) with a green icon — turn on the switch next to it |
| 4 | Return to the main screen — now both TON and USDT are displayed there |
USDT (Tether) is a cryptocurrency pegged to the US dollar. 1 USDT ≈ 1 dollar. It is in USDT that gifts are made in the DP Smart Community. And TON is needed as "fuel" to pay network fees.
Set a password or biometrics
If you did not set up additional protection when creating the wallet — do it now.
| 1 | Open "Settings" (⚙️) — usually the icon is located in the lower right corner of the screen |
| 2 | Find the "Security" section |
| 3 | Enable biometric unlock (fingerprint or Face ID) — so you won't have to enter a PIN code every time |
These are different levels of protection. Password (PIN) protects against accidental access — for example, a child took your phone. Seed phrase is full access to the wallet from any device. The password can be reset, the seed phrase cannot.
How to find your wallet address
The wallet address is your "account number" on the blockchain. It is needed to receive transfers. For example, when you buy TON — you specify this address as the recipient.
| 1 | On the main Tonkeeper screen, click the "Receive" button |
| 2 | You will see a QR code and a long string of characters below it — this is your address. It starts with UQ... or EQ... |
| 3 | Click on the address or the "Copy" button — the address will be saved to the clipboard. Now it can be pasted where required |
The wallet address is a long string of letters and numbers. One mistake — and the funds will go to the wrong place. It will be impossible to recover them. Therefore, always use copy and paste.
Unlike the seed phrase, the wallet address can be safely shown to others. It's like a bank card number — knowing it, you can send funds to it, but you cannot take from it. The secret is only your 24 words.
Getting to know the Tonkeeper interface
Let's figure out what is on the main screen — so you feel confident.
| Screen element | Where it is | What it does |
| Balance | Top of the screen | Shows the total amount of all your assets |
| Token list | Below the balance | TON, USDT and other coins with their quantities |
| "Send" button | Button panel (usually in the center) | Transfer funds to another wallet |
| "Receive" button | Button panel | Shows your address and QR code for receiving |
| "Swap" button | Button panel | Exchange one coin for another (e.g., TON → USDT) |
| History | Tab at the bottom of the screen | All completed transactions (sends and receives) |
| Settings | ⚙️ icon (lower right corner) | Security, display currency, language |
Useful settings
These settings are not mandatory, but can make your work more convenient.
| Setting | Where to find | Why |
| Interface language | Settings → Language | Switch to English if the app opened in another language |
| Display currency | Settings → Primary currency | Set USD or your local currency — the balance will be shown in a familiar currency |
| Notifications | Settings → Notifications | Turn on — so you will immediately see incoming transfers |
